Geaux Acts 1:8 Missions

Geaux Acts 1:8 Missions

Helping Every Church Pray, Give, Grow, and Go

The Acts 1:8 GEAUX Strategy is designed to help every Louisiana Baptist church develop an intentional approach to fulfilling the Great Commission. Beginning in our own communities and extending to the nations, this strategy provides a simple framework for engaging people with the gospel, making disciples, multiplying leaders, and participating in God’s mission around the world.

Our goal is to help every church create a pathway for its members to PRAY, GIVE, GROW, and GO, from their local community to the ends of the earth.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 1:8 (CSB)

Prayer Is the Foundation

Prayer is the foundation of the Acts 1:8 GEAUX Strategy. Every movement of evangelism, discipleship, church multiplication, and missions begins with seeking the Lord and praying for the harvest.

As churches pray, God calls people, opens doors for ministry, and empowers believers to faithfully share the gospel across Louisiana, North America, and around the world.

“The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.”

Luke 10:2 (CSB)

LOCAL | Jerusalem

Engaging our communities and reaching people in our immediate mission field.

NATIONAL | Judea
Serving and sharing the gospel throughout our region and across North America.
CROSS-CULTURAL | Samaria
Building relationships and sharing Christ with people from cultures and backgrounds different from our own.
GLOBAL | Ends of the Earth
Taking the gospel to the nations and participating in God’s global mission.

A Strategy for Every Church

The Acts 1:8 GEAUX Strategy is built around the mission fields identified by Jesus in Acts 1:8. Every church has opportunities to engage each of these areas through prayer, generosity, disciple-making, and missions involvement.
Every healthy missions strategy includes these four essential priorities:
Community Engagement

Connecting with people and meeting needs within our local mission field while creating opportunities to share the gospel.

Disciple-Making

Helping people follow Jesus, grow in their faith, and make disciples who make disciples.

Multiplication

Identifying, developing, and sending leaders, missionaries, church planters, and new churches.

Missions

Participating in God’s work locally, nationally, cross-culturally, and globally through service, partnerships, and gospel engagement.

The GEAUX Framework

The Acts 1:8 GEAUX Strategy turns vision into action through four simple movements:

Acts 1:8 Geaux Resources

PRAY

Prayer fuels every aspect of missions and ministry. Encourage your church to cultivate a culture of prayer for lost people, missionaries, church planters, ministry leaders, and gospel advancement.

GIVE

Through cooperative missions giving and special offerings, Louisiana Baptist churches work together to support missionaries, strengthen churches, meet needs, and share the gospel across the globe.

GO

Mission opportunities provide practical ways for individuals and churches to serve, share the gospel, and make disciples in Louisiana, across North America, and around the world.
