Chaplaincy is widespread and diverse. Chaplains minister to very different people and in a myriad of places. Chaplains are found in hospitals, nursing homes, hospice care organizations, prisons and jails, police and fire agencies, the military, businesses, and corporations, and they will be found responding to disasters and crises around the world.
In this seminar, Tim will briefly cover the history of chaplaincy, the various types of chaplains—from lay to commissioned chaplains, what chaplains do, the qualifications to be a chaplain, various training opportunities, and how to start a chaplaincy and the Biblical basis for chaplains. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and answers and meeting others who are interested in the work and ministry of chaplains.
Instructor: Tim Rupp
Tim Rupp is a career police officer, author, pastor, and chaplain. From first-hand experience, he understands critical incidents and how to minister to those going through a devastating and potential life-altering event.
