Currently, only <a href=\"http:\/\/lafamilyforum.us2.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=20dc9be01946aff7364f31092&amp;id=d3f8b6f57d&amp;e=565cc7cdba\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">immutable characteristics<\/a> are protected against discrimination. <a href=\"http:\/\/lafamilyforum.us2.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=20dc9be01946aff7364f31092&amp;id=d1d391e114&amp;e=565cc7cdba\">HB 804<\/a> would allow punitive damages and court fees against a property owner accused of &#8220;discrimination.&#8221;<br \/>\nProponents advocated for\u00a0&#8220;sexual orientation,&#8221; which is legally undefined yet afforded the most favored status in President Obama&#8217;s U.S. Housing and Urban Development policy. The &#8220;most favored status\u201d is in place\u00a0because of <a href=\"http:\/\/lafamilyforum.us2.list-manage1.com\/track\/click?u=20dc9be01946aff7364f31092&amp;id=2c9d56dd14&amp;e=565cc7cdba\">a rule promulgated by HUD<\/a>, not any law passed by Congress. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.legis.la.gov\/legis\/ViewDocument.aspx?d=879665\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HB 804<\/a> failed by a vote of 13-5 thanks to Rep. Joe Harrison for his motion to defer.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/lafamilyforum.us2.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=20dc9be01946aff7364f31092&amp;id=aef86efe6e&amp;e=565cc7cdba\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">most Pro-Life<\/a> bill of the Session, <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.legis.la.gov\/legis\/ViewDocument.aspx?d=888395\">HB 388 by Rep.
