“Life is Priceless” marches set for three cities
Please plan to be part of at least one of the three pro-life marches scheduled in Louisiana for 2016.
Life March North in Shreveport-Bossier City and Life March South in Baton Rouge will take place simultaneously from 10 a.m. until noon, Saturday, January 23.
Louisiana Baptists from Shreveport, Bossier City, Ruston, Monroe, Natchitoches and other northern areas are asked to gather at the Bossier City’s “Louisiana Boardwalk” at least 30 minutes early to walk the 1.2 mile Life March North across the Texas Street Bridge for a rally in Shreveport’s Festival Plaza. Dr. Gevan Spinney, Louisiana Baptist Convention President, will be among a group of speakers who will bring attention to the nearly 4,000 unborn children who were killed in one year by abortions in Caddo and Bossier Parishes, making this region the “abortion capital” of Louisiana.
Likewise, a “Life Ministry Mobilization” area will have resources to help your church learn how to start ministries that promote adoption and foster care as well as assist unwed mothers and their newborns, and, there will be materials and specialists available to let you know how to plug into other pro-life efforts.
Flyers and a screen image are available for download to promote this event in your church:
Life March South activities will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Galvez Plaza behind the Old State Capitol. The march begins at 10 a.m. and will conclude at the state building about 45 minutes later.
Louisiana Baptists from Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette, Lake Charles and throughout the southern part of the state are asked to show up in force to let our government leaders know the lives of the unborn matter. This is especially critical as we fight to prevent Planned Parenthood from receiving government certification to perform abortions at a super center they are constructing in New Orleans.
During a formal program at the completion of the march, Dr. Tommy Middleton, Director of Missions for the Baptist Association of Greater Baton Rouge will be among speakers drawing attention to the more than 10,000 abortions that were performed in Louisiana during the last year, and what we can do to help stop this needless loss of precious lives.

The first-ever Life March Central will be held in Pineville-Alexandria, Saturday, January 30, from 10 a.m. until 12:30 that afternoon – but Louisiana Baptists from across the CENLA region are asked to gather at least 30 minutes prior in order to pray before stepping out to show our support for the unborn.
The march will start on the campus of Louisiana College and proceed on Main Street in Pineville, cross the Jackson Street Bridge into Alexandria, concluding in the amphitheater on the Red River where we will join in song and prayer to celebrate the precious life of the unborn.
Dr. Rick Brewer, President of Louisiana College, will address the crowd to start the march, and, Dr. David Hankins, Executive Director of the Louisiana Baptist Convention will present a message during the formal program on the other end. Both will be calling for increased protections of the unborn and drawing attention to the more than 10,000 abortions that were performed in Louisiana during the last year.
