Fred Luter, Jr., the first African American President of the Southern Baptist Convention, is the Senior Pastor at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans, where he has served since 1986. His strategy for congregational growth is embedded in his concept called “FRANgelism”—the acronym “FRAN” standing for friends, relatives, associates, and neighbors encouraging one-on-one invitations for church members to attend with their guests.
Adam Watson is the Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church, Covington. He and his wife Laura love to sing and lead in worship, as well as write original music. They have been serving in ministry together for 19 years. Their desire is to help people to grow in their walk with God through corporate worship and a lifestyle of worship to God
Cheryl Markland has served as the children’s ministry strategist for the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina since October 2012. Previously, she served as a children’s minister for a total of 17 years in the Charlotte, NC area. Cheryl currently lives in Monroe, NC.
Dwayne Parker serves as the Director of Discipleship/Sunday School for the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board (MBCB). Before his services at MBCB, he was on staff at First Baptist Church of Flora, MS, for 27 years. Dwayne earned a Doctorate of Ministry Degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2019.
J. Cardinell is the Associate Pastor of Education at Fairview Baptist Church in Coushatta, where he has served for 12 years. He is passionate about helping church leaders better equip those they serve. He is a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, with his PHD in Christian Education.
Thomas Martin is the Associate Pastor of Education and Administration at First Baptist Church, Pineville. He desires to equip people to know Christ, grow in Christ and share Christ with others. Thomas holds two Master degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Jeff Hulett has served as the student pastor at Jefferson Baptist Church, Baton Rouge, for nine years and has been a student pastor for seventeen years. He is passionate about seeing students come to Christ and be discipled as future leaders of the church.
Kirk Jones is the Lead Pastor of Fellowship Church in Prairieville, the church he his wife Wendy planted from their home Bible Study. Since 2001, Fellowship Church has become a vibrant and growing church averaging close to 1500 in Sunday Worship. Fellowship continues to be instrumental in planting churches locally and internationally.
Vernon Hughes is the Minister to Children and Families at First Baptist Church, Zachary and he loves to see kids’ lives transformed by the Word of God. He is a huge Oklahoma Sooners, Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Braves fan, and considers himself a connoisseur of bacon.
